Dmitry Pirog captured the vacant middleweight title last night with a stunning TKO win over Daniel Jacobs. In the opening rounds, Jacobs tried to use his boxing skills to control the pace of the fight, but it was Pirog who forced the action as he tried to remain close to Jacobs an land a big shot. To me, as the fight progressed, it reminded me of Pavlik vs. Taylor I, because I saw a good boxer in Jacobs, but didn’t know how long he could maintain the pace. That question was soon...........
