"This is going
to be a great
night of fighting at the Staples
Center.
"Mexican Independence Day is
September 15. My
birthday is September 7.
I am transforming into a Mexican on that day.
"I'm
very proud of my son. He has taken up the sport that I
love. He's been up there [Big Bear, CA] training with me every day and
he's actually helping me out.
"I'm
happy to be able to get back into the ring. Sergio Mora is very fast
and has a lot of ability. Both of us are very competitive. Regardless
of friendship I know I want to win and he wants to win.
"It's
going to be a great night of
fighting. The undercard is gong to be terrific."

It looks like Future Hall of Famer and former 3 Division Champion "Sugar" Shane Mosley(46-6 39 KOS) is looking to put his May 1st loss against Floyd Mayweather Jr. behind him rather quickly as he is slated to take on former Contender Reality show star and former WBC 154 lb Champion Sergio “The Latin Snake” Mora (21-1-1 6KOS) on September 18th at Los Angeles Staples Center. Both are Southern California natives and this has the makings of a good fight. The most compelling thing is how Mosley will respond after his tough loss at the hands of the Money Man and also that Mora has a victory over former Mosley conqueror Vernon Forrest. Mora has a size advantage and Mosley will be moving up to face Mora who has fought as high as middleweight. Mora has been wanting a big fight for the past few years and now has it. Interesting to see how this one turns out. This one should be a good one. Mosley-Mora will feature an undercard including popular Mexico fighter Saul Alvarez and possibly Oxnard's junior-welterweight Victor Ortiz, Mosley’s promoter Richard Schaefer said.
The much anticipated match up between future Hall Of Famers Floyd “Money” Mayweather and “Sugar” Shane Mosley raked in the dough big time. Mayweather's(41-0 25KOS) Unanimous Decision victory against Shane Mosley (46-6, 39 KOs) on May 1 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas generated 1.4 million domestic pay-per-view buys and $78.3 million in television revenue, HBO announced on Tuesday.(740,000 buys from cable homes and 660,000 from satellite and broadband homes, HBO announced.)
That makes the fight the second-biggest pay-per-view in history.....
Don’t forget, Antonio Margarito (37-6, 27 KO’s), returns to
action in Latin Fury 14 this Saturday May 8th, live on pay-per-view
to face Roberto Garcia (28-2, 21 KOs), in Aguascalientes, Mexico. It has
been a 16-month layoff since Margarito has been in the ring, after serving a
suspension from the detection of two illegal knuckle pads containing a plaster
like substance in his gloves, before the former welterweight champion’s knockout
loss to “Sugar” Shane Mosley.
