Heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (40-2 38KOS) will take on former
Heavyweight champion Shannon Briggs (51-5-1, 45 KOs) on Oct. 16 at the O2 World
Arena in Hamburg, Germany. Briggs has called out the Klitschko brothers for
years and now he gets his shot at one
and with a world title on the line. Klitschko.........
Shannon “The Cannon” Briggs (51-5-1, 45 KO’s), continues his
quest toward another title as he defeated Rob Calloway (70-12-2), at the Norfolk
Scope Arena, in Norfolk Virginia. During
the bout, Briggs floored Calloway three times and the fight was stopped by
referee Chris Wollesen at the 1:38 mark.
Last Friday night, May 21st, at the Capitale on New York City’s lower east side, headliner Shannon “The Cannon” Briggs blasted Dominique Alexander into another galaxy in 20 seconds of the first round, or more like 10 seconds, according to Briggs, and some observers, who were left with a bittersweet taste in their mouths, only because of the quick ending, which by any means was quite impressive. It was just another step forward in Shannon’s quest, to once again, reign supreme atop the heavyweight division. The Cannon (50-5-1-44 KOs) has been making lots of noise lately with those big guns dispatching the majority of his opponents, some being sent to the showers, even before he could break a decent sweat. Outside of the ring many Briggs fans rally behind their fighter as he calls out the champion Klitschko brothers. In a recent interview conducted by DaTruth the former WBO champion spoke of how he is more recognizable than most heavyweights today.....
Former Heavyweight Champion Shannon Briggs picked up win number 50 via KO in 20 seconds by knocking out Dominique Alexander(19-9-1 9KOS) of Topeka,Kansas. Briggs(50-5-1 44KOS) wasted no time as hit caught Alexander with a flush left hook to the body that finished him. Briggs is staying busy and looks to be taking his comeback serious. So serious that he is scheduled to fight another bout again this upcoming Friday on May 28th in a 10 RD bout against Rob Calloway in Virginia. Interesting to see how both Briggs comeback goes and the division shapes up considering the fact that the Heavyweight division lacks notables at the moment.
