King Sized Cheap Shot!

You know before I wrote this I have a feeling some folks may like what I’m about to say about this fight and some may not but hey…what can I say…if I could be the guy giving out some type of an award…The award might have to go to Arthur Abraham for 2010’s Cheap Shot of The Year. The bout was a very entertaining scrap between two of the top fighters in the world in the 168lb division in Andre Dirrell and Arthur Abraham. That was of course until Abraham got himself disqualified for nailing Dirrell in the 11th round after he slipped to the wet canvas in one of the corners and went down and  out. Although Dirrell was clearly down on one knee, Abraham smashed him with a right hand to the temple. The punch badly hurt Dirrell, who fell over and was out cold, forcing referee Lawrence Cole to disqualify Abraham for a blatant foul....

Bitter Sweet Victory for Dirrell, wins on DQ

In the 2nd stage group of Showtime’s “Super Six” tournament, Andre “The Matrix” Dirrell defeated Germany’s “King” Arthur Abraham  by disqualification.  The bout seemed as if  it would be a clean sweep victory for Dirrell but turned ugly towards the end of the fight.  Dirrell fired out of his corner  in the opening round jumping right on Abraham, boxing beautifully and using his speed and movement to stay away from Abraham.  In the 11th round, Dirrell slipped in the corner and was nailed by cheap shot from...............

Joan Guzman Victorious !

Joan Guzman boxed his way to a 12-round split decision victory over Ali Funeka for the vacant IBF lightweight championship this Saturday, but was unable to capture the belts due to weighing 9 pounds over the 135 pound limit.  Guzman and Funeka fought once before in November, but the bout ended in a draw.  The slick punching Guzman, was able to drop Funeka in the sixth round with a..........

Maidana KO's Cayo !

Argentina’s Marcos Maidana (28-1, 27 KOs), brawled his way to a sixth-round knockout against Victor Cayo (24-1, 16 KOs), and retained the WBA super lightweight championship.  The bout took place Saturday in Las Vegas at the Hard Rock Hotel and headlined as the main event.  Early on, Maidana and Cayo exchanged vicious blows, but it was Maidana who pulled away and wore down his Dominican counterpart and connected with a brutal..........

Super Six Super Middleweight Tournament resumes tonight on Showtime as the slick Andre Dirrell takes on the hard hitting King Arthur Abraham in Round 2 of the tournament. This will be a very good matchup as you have Dirrell coming off his first loss in a very close split-decision loss to WBC champion Carl Froch in Froch’s home town in Nottingham, England. This time it will be Dirrell fighting at home as this fight takes place in Detroit at the Joe Louis Arena. DaTruth Boxing:  I don’t believe that Manny Pacquiao is looking suspect at all, I just believe that when you’re number one pound for pound,  you don’t have agree to the rules of the challenger.  You can’t change the rules of the sport for just one fighter.


Don King has a way of shooting himself in the foot... doubt any of his fighters will stay with him.
